Privacy Policy
Last updated: 22 June 2026
This policy explains what personal information Unmeltdown collects, why, what we do with it, and the rights you have over it. We keep it short and plain on purpose.
Who we are
Unmeltdown ("we", "us", "our") is the data controller for any personal data described here. Unmeltdown is operated by Darren Lewis, trading as Unmeltdown, based in the United Kingdom. If you have any questions about this policy or your data, email us at help@unmeltdown.com.
What we collect
- When you contact us — your name, email address, and the message you send through our contact form.
- When you buy the guide — your name, email address, and a record of your purchase. Your card details are handled entirely by our payment processor (Stripe) and are never seen or stored by us.
- If you sign up for emails — your email address (and name, if you give it), so we can send you the updates you asked for.
How we use it
- To reply to your enquiries and provide support.
- To deliver the product you've bought and keep a record of the sale.
- To send you emails you've opted in to receive (you can unsubscribe any time).
- To meet our legal and accounting obligations.
Our legal bases
We rely on: contract (to fulfil a purchase you've made), consent (for marketing emails — given freely and withdrawable at any time), and legitimate interests (to respond to enquiries and run the business responsibly).
Who we share it with
We never sell your data. We share it only with trusted service providers who process it on our behalf, under appropriate safeguards:
- Stripe — to process payments securely.
- Web3Forms — to deliver contact-form messages to our inbox.
- IONOS — our website hosting and email provider.
- Our email provider — if you opt into email updates, we use a reputable email marketing service to manage that. The specific provider will be named here once our email list is live.
Cookies and tracking
This site does not currently use analytics, advertising, or tracking cookies. If that changes, we'll update this policy and ask for your consent where required.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry messages only as long as needed to deal with them. Sales records are kept for as long as the law requires (around six years, for tax and accounting). Marketing contacts are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove you.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to access your data, correct it, have it deleted, restrict or object to how we use it, and request a copy of it. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time. To exercise any of these, just email help@unmeltdown.com and we'll sort it.
Complaints
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, we'd like the chance to put it right — but you also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
